Dear Members of the Class of 2017,

The date is April 24, 2013. Passed is the halfway mark of April, and coming is the first taste of May. Admissions letters have all been sent, received, and opened, good news celebrated and rejoiced for. All that lie between you and the American dream are now a matriculation form, a small deposit, and some boring paperwork – the journey is almost over. Or, so you thought.

I am writing this on behalf of the many upperclassmen who may or may not have frequented VietAbroader Forum to know about your successes, but who are all committed to helping you make the most out of your time in the US. The message I – we – want to put across is this: think carefully before you commit to the destination of your choice. Every school should give you until May 1 to decide; there’s no reason you should not take some time to carefully consider your options. Give yourself ample time, do some serious research, visit if possible. Don’t allow your study abroad decision to be carelessly made.
